3: First back-row slot. Turbo Rush gives +10% Initiative to same-row teammates (positions 3-4-5), buffing all back-row carries and supports. Position 3 fires earlier than 4-5, maximising the chance of having higher Initiative than enemies for Go Faster’s +5% DMG bonus.
4: Alternative back-row slot. Still benefits from Turbo Rush’s same-row Initiative buff and remains safe from front-row targeting. Slightly later action order than position 3.
5: Viable back-row slot. Supersonic 4-piece’s +30% DMG bonus for attacking first in a round is harder to trigger from position 5 due to later action order, but still receives the full Turbo Rush Initiative bonus.
A-Train is a Spacetime Travelers commando who delivers rapid serial assaults on random enemies, dealing escalating damage based on his Initiative advantage over opponents. His Beyond Mach Speed passive adds two extra assaults when 3+ enemies have lower Initiative, making him a multi-hit single-target threat. Turbo Rush grants +10% Initiative to himself and same-row teammates, cementing his role as both a speed-scaling damage dealer and an Initiative support for the lineup.
Pros & Cons
- Breaking Barriers delivers 3 serial assaults at 100% WPN DMG each, with Beyond Mach Speed adding 2 more (total 5 hits) when 3+ enemies have lower Initiative.
- Hypersonic provides up to +50% DMG bonus scaling with Initiative advantage, rewarding Initiative stacking in a way no other hero does.
- Turbo Rush grants +10% Initiative to himself and same-row back-row teammates, acting as a passive Initiative support for the entire back line.
- Supersonic exclusive gear grants 100 Focus per lower-Initiative enemy in round 1 and +30% DMG when attacking first, enabling strong opening bursts.
- Requires premium collaboration event investment to obtain and upgrade, gating him behind significant real-money spending.
- Spacetime Travelers faction (+5% ATK, +5% HP per hero) provides weaker bonuses than Wildlings (+4% ATK, +4% HP) or Minutemen (+5% ATK, +5% HP per Minutemen) at scale.
- Entirely dependent on Initiative advantage — against lineups with high-Initiative heroes or Initiative manipulation, his damage scaling collapses.
- No AOE capability limits his value in fights where multiple targets need pressure simultaneously.
Skills

If the target has an [[Initiative]] lower than that of A-Train, A-Train will deal 2.5/3/3.5/4/5% DMG additionally.
If more than 3 enemies have an [[Initiative]] lower than that of A-Train, he will deal 2 more serial assaults with each assault causing 60/68/76/84/100% WPN DMG.
The hero has +5% [[Initiative]]; +5/6/7/8/10% Initiative for the hero’s teammates in same row.
Gear
Supersonic is best-in-slot for the Initiative-based Focus generation and first-attack DMG bonus. Resolute is mandatory for survivability on a 299 VIT hero. Pair Supersonic + Resolute as the standard setup. Reaper is the best offensive alternative for kill-chain builds.
Exclusive set. 2-piece grants 100 Focus per enemy with lower Initiative than A-Train in round 1, accelerating his focus skill. 4-piece grants +30% DMG when he is the first to attack in a round, synergising perfectly with his Initiative-stacking kit.
#1 BestStandard DPS survivability set. +0.4% ATK per 1% HP lost and death immunity with 30% HP restore. A-Train’s 299 VIT makes survivability gear essential.
#2+15% Crit Rate and +30% Crit Damage. A-Train’s 5-hit serial assault from Breaking Barriers + Beyond Mach Speed benefits from crit on each individual hit.
#3+10% ATK and +35% DMG after defeating a target. Synergises with Breaking Barriers’ kill trigger for snowballing damage in extended fights.
#4+15% normal attack DMG and +25% DMG on attacks after defeating an enemy. Breaking Barriers’ kill trigger (+20% Initiative 2 rounds) synergises with Reaper’s kill-chain bonuses.
#5A-Train is a STR-based single-target carry. Weapon and jewelry prioritise offensive stats (DMG Bonus, STR, Crit Rate); helmet and body prioritise survival (HP%, DEF, VIT). Never roll INT or TAC ATK — he has no TAC DMG skills.
DMG Bonus, STR, Crit Rate
DMG Bonus multiplies all damage sources including serial assaults. STR scales WPN ATK directly. Crit Rate amplifies multi-hit attacks where each hit can crit independently.
HP%, AGI, VIT
Survivability stats. HP% is the most efficient defensive substat. AGI reduces incoming damage and helps maintain Initiative advantage.
DEF, VIT, DMG Mitigation
Pure defense. A-Train’s 299 VIT makes every defensive substat critical for survival through extended fights.
DMG Bonus, STR, Skill Effect Enhancement
DMG Bonus multiplies everything. STR scales WPN ATK. Skill Effect Enhancement boosts Breaking Barriers multipliers.

Synergies
Butcher’s Leadership grants +5% DMG Bonus to all allies, with an additional +5% for Spacetime heroes (total +10% DMG Bonus for A-Train). Frontman provides +15% DMG Mitigation to same-faction allies. Leader exclusive gear shields the entire Spacetime lineup, keeping A-Train alive long enough to chain serial assaults.
Starlight’s Blast reduces ALL enemies’ DMG Mitigation by -20% (-35% with Blinding Burst), directly amplifying A-Train’s serial assault damage. Dazzle’s +15% Initiative stacks with A-Train’s Turbo Rush, pushing both heroes’ Initiative above opponents for Go Faster and Beyond Mach Speed activation.
Homelander’s Patriotic Hero grants +50 Focus every time a Spacetime hero takes an action. In a full Spacetime lineup, this generates massive Focus each round, accelerating A-Train’s Breaking Barriers focus skill cycle and enabling more frequent serial assault bursts.
Soldier Boy’s War Cry taunts all enemies for 2 rounds after Radiation Blast, redirecting attacks away from A-Train in the back row. Both are Spacetime heroes contributing to faction bonuses. Determination layers provide stacking DMG Mitigation that protects the front line while A-Train deals damage safely.
Interactions with other heroes’ ultimate weapons.
Leader 4-piece grants a shield equal to 150% WPN ATK to all Spacetime heroes when Butcher casts Blustery Defense with 4+ Spacetime in the lineup. This shield keeps A-Train alive through incoming damage, compensating for his 299 VIT. The shield also buys time for Supersonic’s first-attack DMG bonus to trigger.
Dazzle grants Starlight +15% Initiative, ensuring she acts early and applies DMG Mitigation reduction before A-Train attacks. The -20% DMG Mit shred from Blast directly increases A-Train’s damage on all 3-5 serial assault hits, since each hit benefits from the reduced enemy defenses.

Counters
- Meta lineups (Buri + Heytex, Casino + Vindicator) (Hard Counter) — Current meta lineups featuring Buri’s damage distribution or Casino’s Focus drain are simply stronger than any Spacetime composition. A-Train’s Initiative scaling cannot overcome the raw stat and mechanic advantage of X2+ era heroes.
- High-Initiative lineups (Soft Counter) — A-Train’s entire damage scaling (Hypersonic up to +50%, Go Faster +5%, Beyond Mach Speed) requires Initiative advantage. Lineups with multiple high-Initiative heroes neutralise his scaling completely, reducing him to base damage only.
- Old-meta lineups (Soft Counter) — Against older lineups (pre-S5) with lower Initiative values, A-Train’s scaling activates fully — 5 serial assaults with up to +50% DMG from Hypersonic and +5% from Go Faster on each hit delivers strong single-target burst.
- Low-speed lineups (Situational Counter) — Lineups without Initiative buffs or with slow heroes consistently trigger Beyond Mach Speed’s 2 extra assaults, giving A-Train 5 total hits per Breaking Barriers cast.
Rating
B Tier. A-Train is a functional Initiative-scaling DPS who performs well within Spacetime Travelers lineups but lacks the raw damage output to compete with meta carries like Victoria or Heytex. His serial assault mechanic delivers consistent multi-hit damage, but the Spacetime faction as a whole is significantly weaker than Wildlings and Minutemen lineups. As an Advanced Elite hero from a premium collaboration event, A-Train requires significant real-money investment to obtain and upgrade, making his B-tier performance a poor return on investment compared to freely available alternatives.
