Shops – Last Fortress: Underground

Last updated: 07.23.2024 ☣ Game version: 1.369.001

What’s worth getting in the shops of Last Fortress: Underground? I will focus on that in this guide, so I won’t list every single thing you can get. I will only give my thoughts on what’s worth getting and why + some other general tips. I won’t account for anything you can buy for real money, as it is a) not what I recommend doing and b) is a whole other topic.

They occasionally change the items in various shops, so I will try to update this if such changes are made, but there can be differences if your game version is newer.

If I were to rank the items based on their overall value (descending order) in the game, it’d be something like this:

  1. Gear Modifier
  2. Selectable Advanced Elite Hero Card
  3. Advanced Elite Hero Shard
  4. Epic Gear Kit
  5. Supercharger
  6. Raffle\Faction Card
  7. Combat Hero Recruitment Points (CHRP)
  8. Clean Energy
  9. Elite Hero Medal
  10. Beast Module Chest (Intermediate)
  11. Beast Module Chest (Low)
  12. Ultimate Weapon Master Chests
  13. Ultimate Weapon Chips
  14. Policy Chests
  15. Speed-ups
  16. Z-coins
  17. Iron
  18. M-coins
  19. EXP
  20. Stone

This is the very subjective ranking I use when considering what’s worth what. But generally, you want to max out the best heroes first and then their gear. That is why the first five positions in that list are as they are. If something is missing from this list, it is because I do not consider these items worth getting in shops or because I forgot to include them because I am old 🧙‍♂️.

Also, I might not have covered some early-game shops, but you can still rely on the ranking to decide what to get. You can also provide me with details on these shops (season, screenshots, etc.), and maybe I will add them here.

Buy

  • If you have Premium, you’ll be able to get a special item for one diamond. It is either 150 Stone, 100 Iron, 1hr building speed-up, 1hr research speed-up, or 50 combat hero recruitment points (CHRP). Needless to say, this is always worth getting if you have Premium. But is it worth getting Premium for this? I’d say no.
  • Everything sold for z-coins – worth buying.
  • As for the things sold for diamonds, I’d grab
    • Any CHRP, whenever they are sold
    • All 1hx5 Research speed-ups for 120
    • All 1hx5 Training speed-ups for 120
  • 100 CHRP for 1m of food – buy only when you have 1.5m+ of food.
    • To amass food, remember to use any extra medical herbs in the kitchen.
  • 250×2 Power for 100 Coal – buy all when doing the Trading phase of the Personal Armaments Race. But only if you do not have any spare or planned speed-ups to use.
  • 2,500 Coal for 2,500 Stone – replenish Coal if you spent it on Power.
  • 1,250 Iron for 2,500 Stone – I grab this every time I see it available because you need a lot of Iron for T10 troops once you get there.
  • Fluid Bait 8 – I grab these from time to time to have some available for the start of dimensions. Usually, the level eight mutants are in the territories of higher-level cities, so your raids would travel quite far. That’s when I can use fluids for a couple of days.

Arena Shop

Go only for the Selectable Elite Hero Card at 280 dog tags. Do this to max out the main heroes you’d use for a long time, like Heytex, Casino, Buri, etc.

trade center arena shop - 280 tags card

Tip: Remove a few heroes from your defending lineup on the Arena to drop to lower ranks. That way, in six attempts, you will always get the maximum number of tags daily. During the last day of your current Arena cycle, put your full lineup to defend and use 300 diamonds to get six more attempts and get as high as possible in rankings to receive additional tags.

If the heroes left to be maxed out are available here for cheaper than 280 tags, get them directly.

If you have every hero maxed out (congratz), go for Elite medals or Speed-up hours.

Desperado Shop

Get the Random Tier 3 Engine Part kits, as Engines are usually the bottlenecks for upgrading everything else in your APC. Also, there is no difference in price between getting one Tier 5 or 16 Tier 3 kits, as you need 16 Tier 3 parts to make one Tier 5 parts. Getting Tier 3 kits is better because it would allow you to get more points during the Alliance Duel on Tuesday.

Summit Arena Shop

Similarly to the Arena Shop, get the Selectable Elite Hero Card for 33,600 Summit Arena medals. But max out Heytex 103 first, as he is available at 26,400 medals here (S5+).

Tip: If you have spare diamonds, get five additional attempts in the Summit Arena daily and use all your attempts as soon as you can after the reset to maximize the number of medals you get per hour.

If the heroes left to be maxed out are available here for cheaper than 33,600 medals, get them directly.

If you have every hero maxed out (yay), go for the Supercharger at 4,800 medals. Superchargers are always needed.

Alloy Transaction

As it is now, I wouldn’t recommend investing in alloys, as you need too many of them to upgrade the Flying Fortress. If you lack diamonds, I’d suggest you sell your alloys here.

Exchange Shop

During the early game, wait for the heroes you need to max out and spend your gold vouchers (GV) on those. Note that you’d need one Shard Exchange Token for those, so basically, each shard would cost you 40 GV. But remember that only the heroes you can draw with CHRP are available in this shop.

Tip: Always check the next rotation to see if there will be a hero you need more than the one in the current cycle.

I wouldn’t spend 20 GV on Koba, but I remember spending them to max out Kelly early on. She is pretty useful during the first five seasons, especially if you do not spend much (or at all) on the game.

exchange shop 1

After you hit the dimensions, you can exchange faction tickets for war raffle tickets. Do that whenever you can, as the better heroes are generally draftable only via raffle tickets.

Tip: The NATE treasure hunt game is a great way to secure at least 30 faction tickets for each Exchange Shop cycle.

Do not recycle the shards of Advanced Elite heroes (5-skill) unless you have them maxed out. Early on, 4-skill hero shards would be your only source of GV. Also, I did recycle Koba’s shards as I was not planning on using her in my lineups, but now she has more uses, thanks to her UW.

Do not spend your GV on anything else unless you have maxed out all heroes available in the Exchange Shop.

If that’s the case for you, get:

  • 900×3 CHRP for 15 GV
  • 500 CHRP for 100 silver vouchers (SV)
  • 5 Faction Recruitment cards for 20 GV

(whenever those appear)

I would not recommend recycling your Advanced Elite shards once you have accumulated 500+ GV.

I keep eight Epic (orange) shards for every hero I have maxed out, just in case they introduce some new mechanic to upgrade your heroes even further with shards in the future. In any case, you will always be able to recycle them, so keep some just in case.

I really hope they will change this shop and add better items or new heroes to the rotations. For a lot of late-game players, this shop is practically useless.

Alliance Shop

Bottom right menu => Alliance => Shop

alliance shop

The first thing you will see is the 15 hero shards for 50,000 coins. If you click on two circled arrows in the upper right corner, you will see the heroes whose shards you can choose. Spend your coins on these shards until you have these heroes maxed. The priority would be Buccaneer => Elaine => Laurel => Bolton => Harman (he is among other items in the shop) => Penny.

alliance shop shards

After you have those maxed, the priority of other items in the Alliance Shop is the following:

  1. Faction cards
  2. Zone Passes
    • Every member in an alliance should get 8 per week at all times in case you need to move.
  3. 8-hr Gathering Boost
    • Have like 4-5 in your inventory at all times is recommended.
  4. 8-hour Peace Treaty
    • Depends on your strength and how often you get attacked. But I think 50,000 is better to be spent on shards.
  5. 8-hr Speed-up
    • Only if you desperately need speed-ups for a Duel.

Everything else is sort of irrelevant.

Merit Exchange

You get Merit for various things, but the fastest way is by attacking bots. You can earn 300 Merit a week, which resets on Friday. With a $10 Merit Pass, you will be able to earn 500 a week, but I think the difference of +800 Merit a month is not worth it.

how to get merit

Here, you’d basically want to get a Policy Card Chest Level 3 and Wrenches.

Without the Pass, you will have 1,200 Merit a month, which is four Policy Chests and 40 Wrenches. If you get the Pass, you get an additional 800 Merit a month, which is 3 more chests and 10 Wrenches. But, of course, you can distribute it however you like.

Ruin Adventure

The Ruin Adventure Shop becomes available during the Ruin Adventure event, where you get pickaxes for various activities and use those to uncover different items.

ruin adventure shop 1

Here, I will always suggest going for the Gear Modifier. However, Journals are the rarest items you will get, so accumulate around 250 pickaxes to guarantee that you get the three hazard suits and three journals requried for the modifier.

If you already have 2-3 gear items at the Master (red) level, you might consider getting Supercharges to upgrade them to level 30, especially if your alliance often goes for Doomed Land in Dimensions, where you will almost always be able to get one Gear Modifier.

It is a good idea to balance upgrading all your gear to Master and maxing it out to level 30 to strengthen your main lineup steadily.

If my guides help you, please consider supporting me here, thanks!

However, one modifier is basically 15 Superchargers in this shop, so it is always better to get a modifier here because the Doomed Land dimension offers a better ratio.

If you have some spare Ruin items left after getting a Gear Modifier, be sure to spend them, as they will disappear after the Event ends. Assuming that you got the modifier right after collecting three journals, get faction cards, recruitment points, and Iron or z-coins (depending on what items you have left), and do not spend any more pickaxes.

Hunter’s Shop

Accumulate 1,000 bones for the Gear Modifier.

hunters shop 1

Let’s calculate the relative value of a Supercharger (Epic Gear Kit) in this case and see if there’s anything else worth getting.

  • In the Hunter’s Shop, one modifier = five Epic Gear Kits that you can recycle into five Superchargers.
  • In the Doomed Land dimension, one modifier = 25 Superchargers.

Hence, getting the modifier in the Hunter’s Shop would be the smarter option. But what about the Beast modules?

  • In the Hunter’s Shop, one modifier = 28 Intermediate Module chests.
  • In the Doomed Land dimension, one modifier = 25 Intermediate Module chests.

As you can see, getting Module chests from the Hunter’s Shop is a bit better idea if you want to upgrade your Beast.

Ultimately, I’d still suggest getting modifiers here only unless they add some other worthwhile options.

Prestige Shop

Once you reach Dimensions, your Zone Shop becomes the Prestige Shop. You will need Prestige Coins earned in Dimensions to get any items from this shop.

Season Special

This one becomes available once you enter a Dimension, and each item can be purchased once during that Dimension.

I’d suggest getting the 2,000-coin shard of the meta hero you want to max out (Heytex, Casino, Chu, Ada, Buri, etc.). These will change based on how many Dimensions you’ve been to. For Heytex, there is the S5 Hero Selection card for 1,500 coins.

I would not recommend spending 25,000 diamonds for such a shard.

Season Shop

This one restocks every week.

You want to grab the free 100 coins, get the 800-coin Quinn shard if you do not have her fifth skill unlocked, and get two Superchargers for 100 coins each.

Mira, Ricardo, and Blanche are the three heroes you might consider maxing, so getting their 800-coin shards here is viable unless you have not yet gotten the 2,000-coin shard from the Season Special shop.

Camp Shop (Doomed Land)

Available in the Dommed Land Dimension and is the best way of getting Gear Modifiers so far.

doomed lands - camp shop 0

If you complete Camp Routine missions and participate in Transportations, city captures, and zombie defending, I believe it is possible to get two modifiers (25,000 Honor Coins) per dimension.

Other than that, get the Superchargers.
