Explanation:

In Last Fortress, there is this micromanagement part that will frustrate you and make you lose resources:

  • Each production building has a limit of resources it can hold inside. When the building is full, it won’t produce any more until the resource is collected.
    • If your buildings get filled during the night, you lose resources.
    • Once the Diner runs out of food, it stops cooking, which might lead to a food shortage. Food shortage can lead to a drop in residents’ mood, which decreases their work efficiency. If the food shortage is maintained for long enough, residents will start leaving your base.
    • You need a Work Station Solari hero to gather resources after they have been produced and deliver them to the Material Warehouse. This can take quite some time, and the hero won’t be able to construct anything while doing this.
  • Some of the production buildings, like the Mint, Generator, Diner, and Infirmary, require you to fill them with raw materials for production. Hence, if there’s no raw material in the facility, it stops production.
    • Additionally, you also need a hero working at a Work Station to deliver the raw material. Hence, there always should be one such hero free to be able to perform this.

Doing all this manually can be quite frustrating and time-consuming.

NATE and its first skill

NATE is worth getting because it:

  • Automatically gathers produced resources and delivers raw materials where needed.
    • But, it does not gather power and water.
  • Makes anything that increases Worker Load, Distribution Load, Heroes’ moving speed, and Distribution Speed not needed, obsolete. This saves you some skill medals that you use elsewhere.
  • Can increase the APC durability recovery speed if you level up his second skill. This will allow you to mop up more zombies a day and do more stuff with your APCs.
  • Can increase the construction speed if you get another NATE and level up his third skill.
  • Costs only $10 for what it does. You can save a bit if you use a Bronze Voucher that you can get on Saturday and Sunday by getting to the third Personal Armaments reward.

After Update 1.333.001, you can sometimes buy a special set for NATE called Smart Butler. It increases NATE’s distribution speed and load, research and construction speed by 5%, and APC durability restoration speed by 5%. But is this gear set worth $100? It’s up to you to decide.
