Tank
Single Damage
1: Primary tank slot. Absorbs the most attacks, maximizing Iron Fist ATK/DEF steal stacks and Power Recharge shield generation per round.
2: Secondary tank slot. Works in dual-tank setups where Buri or Bolton occupies pos 1. Still receives enough attacks to stack Iron Fist.
3: Off-tank position. Receives fewer attacks, slowing Iron Fist stacking. Use only if pos 1-2 are occupied by higher-priority tanks.
Iris is a self-scaling bruiser tank whose Iron Fist permanently reduces enemy ATK/DEF by 10% per hit while permanently increasing her own ATK/DEF by the same amount, creating an ever-widening stat gap that guarantees she wins any prolonged fight. Power Recharge generates a shield equal to 10% max HP on every action, providing consistent damage absorption that scales with her HP pool. Welder’s Mark ultimate weapon converts incoming burst damage into Initiative stacks and eventually Focus generation, rewarding her for being hit hard and fast.
Pros & Cons
- Iron Fist permanently reduces target ATK/DEF by 10% per hit (stacks to 30-50%) while permanently increasing own ATK/DEF by 10% (stacks to 50%), creating an escalating advantage.
- Iron Barrier’s 20% base DMG mitigation + 3% less DMG per 1% HP lost makes her progressively harder to kill as she takes damage.
- Power Recharge generates 10% max HP shield every action, providing consistent damage absorption without requiring skill activation.
- Wild Bash adds 20% of target’s max HP as WPN DMG (max 800% ATK), giving her significant single-target burst against tanky enemies.
- Welder’s Mark UW converts burst damage (>15% max HP in single hit) into +10% Initiative stacks (max 30%), then generates 500 Focus/round at max stacks.
- No team-wide buffs or DOT contribution — purely selfish tank who does not enable teammates like Yolanda or Bolton.
- Iron Fist stat steal requires multiple rounds to accumulate meaningful stacks; early rounds leave her at base stats.
- No exclusive gear available, putting her at a stat disadvantage compared to tanks with exclusive sets (Yolanda’s BabyBear).
- Single-target Focus skill (Iron Fist) means she cannot pressure multiple enemies simultaneously; relies entirely on teammates for AOE.
Skills
Deals 180%/204%/228%/252%/300% WPN DMG to the Target. Permanently reduces the Target’s ATK and DEF by 2%/4%/6%/8%/10%, up to 6%/12%/18%/24%. Permanently increases the hero’s ATK and DEF by 2%/4%/6%/8%/10%, up to 10%/20%/30%/40%/50%.
Gains 4%/8%/12%/16%/20% DMG Mitigation at the start of Fight. For every 1% HP lost, takes 1%/1.5%/2%/2.5%/3% less damage.
Gains a Shield equal to 5%/6%/7%/8%/10% of own Max HP every time an action is taken.
When using the Focus Skill, additionally apply WPN DMG equal to 10%/12.5%/15%/17.5%/20% of the Target’s Max HP (cannot exceed 800% of your ATK).
Increases the hero’s Heal and Shield Effect by 2%/4%/6%/8%/10%.
Gear
Resolute is the top priority for death immunity during the vulnerable early rounds before Iron Fist stacks accumulate. Super Core accelerates Focus generation for more Iron Fist casts. Castle and Tough Wall provide raw defensive stats that scale with her permanent DEF increases. Mental Control is a niche option for guaranteeing attack redirection and protecting backrow carries.
Death immunity with 30% HP restore is critical for surviving the early rounds before Iron Fist stacks accumulate. +0.4% ATK per 1% HP lost synergizes with Iron Barrier’s scaling (less HP = less damage taken AND more ATK).
#1 Best+3% Focus per action taken. From pos 1, Iris acts frequently, generating Focus rapidly for Iron Fist skill casts. Super Core’s team focus acceleration benefits backrow carries. Accelerates reaching Welder’s Mark’s max Initiative stacks.
#2+8% DMG Mitigation and +8% DEF. Stacks with Iron Barrier’s 20% base DMG mitigation and Exosuit Repairs’ +10% shield effect. Extremely high effective damage reduction at full stacks.
#3+8% Heal effect. Amplifies Exosuit Repairs’ +10% heal/shield bonus, making Power Recharge shields larger and any external healing more effective.
#4Redirects 80% of enemy normal attacks to Iris, guaranteeing she receives hits for Iron Fist stacking and Welder’s Mark Initiative accumulation. Also protects fragile backrow carries.
#5+8% DEF and +8% HP. Raw defensive stats scale directly with Iron Fist’s permanent DEF increases. The larger HP pool improves Power Recharge shield value and Iron Barrier’s scaling.
#6Iris is a tank who scales with HP, DEF, and DMG Mitigation. Unlike DPS heroes, she does not benefit from DMG Bonus, INT, or Crit Rate on any slot. STR has minor value for Wild Bash WPN DMG but is far less impactful than defensive stats. Maximize HP%, VIT, DEF, and DMG Mitigation across all four gear slots.
HP%, VIT, DMG Mitigation
HP% maximizes Power Recharge shield value (10% max HP). VIT increases base HP. DMG Mitigation stacks with Iron Barrier for extreme damage reduction.
HP%, VIT, AGI
HP% and VIT for maximum HP pool. AGI is Iris’s highest base stat (894) and reduces incoming damage while protecting against AGI-targeting skills.
DEF, VIT, DMG Mitigation
Pure defense. DEF scales with Iron Fist’s permanent DEF increases. VIT adds HP. DMG Mitigation stacks with Iron Barrier.
HP%, VIT, Skill Effect Enhancement
HP% and VIT maximize survivability. Skill Effect Enhancement boosts Iron Fist’s ATK/DEF steal multipliers and Wild Bash’s %HP damage.

Heals front line, critical with Buri distributing damage. Mirage UW bleeding triggers Blaze Shark. Battlefield Assistance buffs Heytex.
Ultra-durable dual-tank front pairing Buri’s damage distribution with Iris’s self-scaling stats. Buri’s Link of Life distributes damage across all heroes, reducing spike damage on Iris during the critical early rounds while Iron Fist stacks accumulate. Once stacked, Iris’s ATK/DEF advantage makes the entire damage distribution pool effectively unkillable. Benson and Heytex carry from the backrow. Lower damage ceiling than DOT compositions but maximizes survivability.
Synergies
Bolton’s AC Shield UW (200% max HP shield at battle start) absorbs early-round burst while Iris’s Iron Fist stacks are still low. Guardian of Justice provides +5% DMG mitigation to all allies. Both are Minutemen, contributing to faction bonuses. Bolton covers the vulnerable early-game window that is Iris’s main weakness.
Buri’s Link of Life distributes 50% of incoming damage across all heroes, preventing Iris from being burst down before Iron Fist stacks accumulate. Once stacked, Iris’s elevated DEF and the enemy’s reduced ATK make the entire distribution pool extremely durable. Frosty Coffin’s crit bonuses add burst potential to Iron Fist and Wild Bash.
Iris + Yolanda dual-tank fronts combine Iris’s permanent stat scaling with Yolanda’s barrier- based sustain and DOT application. Iris reduces enemy ATK/DEF while Yolanda applies Bleeding and Burning, creating a front line that both weakens enemies and feeds DOT chains simultaneously.
Benson’s Hellfire burns all enemies, providing AOE damage that Iris cannot. As a Minuteman, Benson benefits from faction bonuses and provides +8% DMG to all Minutemen. In Iris lineups where the front line is extremely durable, Benson’s sustained burn damage becomes the primary AOE damage source.
Mira’s Battlefield Treatment heals the front line, supporting Iris through the early rounds before Iron Fist stacks make her self-sufficient. Exosuit Repairs’ +10% heal effect amplifies Mira’s healing. Mirage UW bleeding adds DOTs to the status chain.
Interactions with other heroes’ ultimate weapons.
Iris’s Iron Fist permanently reduces enemy ATK, making marked targets less dangerous while Heytex’s rockets deal damage. The longer Iris survives (which Iron Fist ensures), the more rounds Heytex has to accumulate Pursue procs and Blaze Shark bullets. Iris is the ideal tank for extended-fight carry strategies.
While Link of Life is active, all allies gain +15% crit rate and +30% crit damage. Iris’s Wild Bash (180/300% WPN DMG + 20% target max HP) can deal massive burst when it crits. Link of Life’s damage distribution protects Iris during early stacking; Frosty Coffin adds offensive scaling once her DEF advantage is established.
AC Shield provides 200% max HP shield at battle start, absorbing the first wave of enemy attacks while Iris has zero Iron Fist stacks. This bridge is critical — without Bolton’s opening shield, Iris can be burst down before her permanent stat scaling takes effect.

Counters
- Casino (Hard Counter) — Casino’s Double Down drains 200 Focus from all enemies, preventing Iris from casting Iron Fist. Without Focus skills, she cannot steal ATK/DEF or deal Wild Bash burst damage. She still has Power Recharge shields and Iron Barrier, but her scaling advantage disappears.
- Sustained DOT lineups (Soft Counter) — Iron Barrier reduces direct damage but DOTs bypass single-hit damage calculations. Poison, Burn, and Bleed tick every round regardless of Iris’s DEF or DMG mitigation stacking. DOT- heavy compositions (Benson + Ivanov + Margaret) can drain her HP through shields over time.
- %HP-based damage (Soft Counter) — Heroes with damage based on target max HP (similar to Iris’s own Wild Bash) bypass her DEF advantage entirely. High HP pool from VIT investment becomes a liability when enemies deal percentage-based damage.
- Single-target burst lineups (Hard Counter) — Iron Barrier’s scaling (20% base + 3% less DMG per 1% HP lost) combined with Power Recharge shields means single large hits are heavily mitigated. Wild Bash’s permanent ATK reduction on targets progressively weakens burst carries. Burst lineups that cannot kill Iris in the first 2-3 rounds lose the stat war permanently.
- Auto-attack-heavy lineups (Soft Counter) — Lineups relying on normal attacks repeatedly trigger Iron Fist’s ATK/DEF steal. Each hit Iris receives generates a Power Recharge shield (10% max HP) and Welder’s Mark Initiative stacks. More incoming attacks accelerate her scaling rather than threatening her.
Rating
S Tier. Iris is an S-tier self-scaling tank who becomes progressively more dominant as fights extend. Iron Fist’s permanent ATK/DEF steal is unique — no other tank creates a widening stat advantage over time. Wild Bash adding 20% target max HP as WPN DMG gives her significant single-target burst against high-HP enemies. Her unmatched individual survivability ceiling, permanent stat-stealing mechanic, and percentage-based burst damage make her the strongest pure-tank option in the game and earn her S-tier status.
