AOE damage
4: Standard DPS slot. Pos 4 provides reliable focus fill while keeping Duncan protected in the back row. Best position for consistent Two Birds with One Stone output.
5: Alternative back-row slot. Slightly slower focus fill but still effective. Preferred when another DPS hero needs pos 4.
3: First back-row slot. Fastest focus fill but Duncan’s 299 VIT makes him vulnerable to stray hits reaching pos 3. Only use when no better option exists for this slot.
Duncan is a Rare Wildlings AOE carry who hits 2 random enemies with Two Birds with One Stone, dealing TAC DMG with an Armor-Breaking Ammo upgrade that adds +30% TAC DMG on skill. He also provides +20% Travel Speed for march content. He is a budget Wildlings DPS option for S0-S2 but is quickly outclassed by Epic alternatives.
Pros & Cons
- Two Birds with One Stone hits 2 random enemies per cast, providing semi-AOE pressure.
- TAC DMG typing bypasses WPN DMG Mitigation, effective against lineups stacking physical defense.
- Armor-Breaking Ammo adds +30% TAC DMG on skill, a significant damage boost per cast.
- Shortcut provides +20% Travel Speed for march-speed lineups.
- Wildlings faction pairs with Irma and Harman for early faction bonuses.
- Only hits 2 targets — neither true AOE nor focused single-target burst.
- No debuffs or utility beyond raw damage output.
- Low VIT (299) makes him extremely fragile if targeted.
- Random targeting means Two Birds may hit tanks instead of carries.
- Completely outclassed by Epic and Legendary Wildlings DPS heroes in S3+.
Skills
Deals 78/88/98/110/130% TAC DMG to 2 random enemies.
+2.5/3/3.5/4/5% TAC DMG Bonus for this Hero.
Lineup Travel Speed +10/12/14/16/20% when traveling.
Casting "Two Birds with One Stone" will deal an additional 15/18/21/24/30% TAC DMG.
Gear
Hurricane is mandatory for Duncan because it amplifies TAC DMG and Focus DMG, both of which scale his primary skill. Apocalypse is the best second option for crit scaling across two targets. Death is a functional budget fallback for early seasons.
+15% Crit Rate and +30% Crit DMG. Critical hits on either of Duncan’s two targets deal significant bonus damage. Strong complement to Hurricane when mixing gear pieces.
#1 BestChance to deal bonus damage on hit. Two targets per cast gives two chances to trigger the proc. Budget option when better sets are unavailable.
#2+8% TAC DMG and +24% Focus DMG. Duncan is an INT-based TAC damage dealer — Hurricane directly amplifies his primary damage type. Focus DMG bonus increases Two Birds damage.
#3Stack offensive substats on weapon and jewelry for maximum TAC burst, and defensive substats on helmet and body for survivability. Duncan is a glass cannon — he needs to survive to cast once, and that cast needs to hit as hard as possible. Do not invest in STR or WPN substats.
DMG Bonus, INT, Crit Rate
DMG Bonus scales all of Duncan’s TAC damage. INT is his primary stat as a Riflemen hero. Crit Rate increases critical hit chance on both targets of Two Birds with One Stone.
HP%, AGI, VIT
Survivability substats. Duncan’s 299 VIT makes him the squishiest hero type — HP% and VIT are essential for surviving to cast his focus skill at least once.
DEF, VIT, DMG Mitigation
Pure defense substats. Every point of DEF and DMG Mitigation extends Duncan’s life by one more hit, which is often the difference between casting and not casting.
DMG Bonus, INT, Skill Effect Enhancement
DMG Bonus and INT maximize Two Birds with One Stone damage. Skill Effect Enhancement boosts the Armor-Breaking Ammo +30% TAC DMG, amplifying his burst further.

Primary tank. Absorbs front-line damage with Tough Resistance providing +10% WPN DMG Mitigation. Castle block chance compensates for her limited HP pool.
Secondary tank and shield provider. Staunch Will shields all allies on focus skill cast. Provides critical survivability layer for the fragile back-row heroes.
Primary AOE carry. Provides broader damage coverage than Duncan. First back-row slot for fastest focus fill among the DPS heroes.
Secondary AOE carry. Two Birds with One Stone hits 2 random enemies with TAC DMG, diversifying damage angles. Armor-Breaking Ammo boosts skill damage by 30%.
Single-target DPS. Finishes weakened enemies after Duncan and Marlen soften them with AOE. Fifth Wildlings hero securing the +20% faction bonus.
A budget Wildlings lineup for early seasons. Irma and Harman form the frontline while Marlen, Duncan, and Jessie provide back-row damage. The 5-hero Wildlings faction bonus grants +20% ATK and HP to the entire team. The lineup relies on faction synergy to compensate for the individual weakness of Rare heroes.
Synergies
Marlen’s AOE skills combined with Duncan’s Two Birds with One Stone create multi-angle damage spread across the enemy lineup. Enemies cannot focus defense on a single carry when two AOE heroes are threatening from different positions.
Harman’s Staunch Will shields protect Duncan’s fragile 299 VIT frame. Without shields, Duncan often dies before casting Two Birds with One Stone. Both are Wildlings, contributing to the faction bonus.

Counters
- Casino (Hard Counter) — Casino’s focus drain delays Two Birds with One Stone, removing Duncan’s only meaningful contribution. Without his focus skill, Duncan is dead weight in the lineup.
- Mental Control heroes (Soft Counter) — Mental Control effects can redirect Duncan’s Two Birds with One Stone to unintended targets, wasting his semi-AOE burst on tanks or low-priority heroes.
- WPN Mitigation stacking lineups (Situational Counter) — Duncan’s TAC DMG bypasses WPN DMG Mitigation entirely. Against lineups that stack physical defense gear and skills, Duncan’s damage is unmitigated while STR-based carries would deal reduced damage.
Rating
D Tier. Duncan is a below-average Rare AOE carry. Two Birds with One Stone only hits 2 targets (not all enemies like Betty’s Rapid Darts), and he provides no utility beyond damage and travel speed. His TAC DMG typing bypasses WPN DMG Mitigation stacking, but this is insufficient to compensate for his weak kit. Quickly outclassed by higher-rarity alternatives and not worth investing in beyond early S0.
