2: Position 2 lets Harman absorb front-row hits to build Focus for frequent Staunch Will casts while being protected by a primary tank in position 1. His enhanced self-shield from Will Power (+80% TAC ATK) makes him durable enough for the secondary tank slot.
1: Primary tank slot when no stronger tank is available (pre-Buri seasons). Harman’s Fending Them Off (+18% DMG Mitigation) and stacking shields make him a viable front-line tank, though he lacks the damage distribution of Buri or the raw HP shield of Bolton.
5: Back-row support slot in lineups where both tank positions are filled. Harman’s shields and Chimera Anchor still function from position 5, but he generates Focus much more slowly without absorbing front-row damage.
Harman is the Wildlings’ premier shield generator, applying shields to all allies on every focus skill cast through Staunch Will while granting himself a bonus self-shield through Will Power. His Chimera Anchor UW converts every shield event into offensive chip damage, dealing 50% TAC ATK to a random enemy up to 5 times per round. With his Guardian INT exclusive gear scaling shield size by round number and boosting all teammate healing by 22%, Harman provides both escalating defensive layers and passive sustained offense.

Gear
Guardian INT is mandatory — the +22% healing boost and round-scaling shields define Harman’s value. The second slot depends on the lineup: Alpha Bless for Victoria compositions (shields trigger Energy Detection), Heal for maximum shield output, or Castle/Resolute when Harman is the primary tank and needs raw survivability.
Harman’s exclusive set. 2-piece grants all teammates +22% healing, amplifying every heal source in the lineup. 4-piece creates an escalating shield at end of each round equal to (10+10*X)% TAC ATK to all allies, where X is the round number. Mandatory best-in-slot.

HP% and VIT build the raw HP pool for front-line tanking. AGI improves defensive targeting resistance and helps Harman act earlier for faster shield application.
DEF, VIT, DMG Mitigation
Pure defense. Higher DEF and DMG Mitigation reduce incoming damage, keeping Harman alive longer to cast more Staunch Will shields.

Harman’s shields are the primary fuel for Victoria’s Energy Detection UW, which grants +200 Focus and damage bonuses whenever Victoria detects a shield on herself. Every Staunch Will cast and Alpha Bless trigger feed directly into Victoria’s burst cycle. Bolton provides a massive battle-start AC Shield that also triggers Energy Detection, while Benson and Heytex handle AOE damage pressure. This is the definitive shield-stacking lineup.
Primary tank. Guardian STR casts Link of Life at battle start and provides death immunity. Super Core accelerates Focus across the lineup. Damage distribution triggers Ada’s Aid in Need constantly and prevents burst kills.
Core healer. Breeze applies 2 Reviving layers at battle start. Alpha Bless adds team shields at round 1. Raging Roar heals all heroes and triggers God-Slaying Axe’s +10% DMG / +10% DMG Mitigation buff. Guardian INT’s +22% healing amplifies all Reviving output.
Seed of Life places a time bomb on an enemy. Corvine Curse reduces a random enemy’s all stats by 8% each round. Soul Split shares Eva’s INT with the highest-stat teammates. Spirit exclusive gear targets an additional enemy with Corvine Curse.
Cursed Scythe reduces all enemy stats by 12% for 2 rounds. Skeleton exclusive gear debuffs the three highest-stat enemies at battle start. Combined with Eva’s Corvine Curse for layered stat reduction across the enemy lineup.

Back-row targeted DPS. Sand exclusive gear makes Rapid Arrows hit ALL back-row enemies and restores 21% of damage dealt as HP. Wildlings Leader grants +5% DMG Bonus and +3% HP to all Wildlings in the lineup.
Cursed Scythe reduces all enemy stats by 12% for 2 rounds. Skeleton exclusive gear debuffs the three highest-stat enemies at battle start. Soul Reaper boosts Elaine’s stats by 100% of the stat loss inflicted.
Single-target burst carry. Apocalypse and Hurricane provide raw offensive stats. Elaine’s stat reduction makes Kaya’s hits relatively stronger as enemy DEF and HP decrease.
Dedicated healer. Heal set boosts all healing output by 45%. Self-Healing provides passive HP restoration each round. Guardian INT’s +22% healing from Harman amplifies all of Jessie’s healing effects.
An early-game Wildlings lineup where Harman serves as the primary tank and shield provider while Marlen delivers back-row targeted DPS. Before Buri is available, Harman occupies position 1 with Castle for raw survivability. Elaine debuffs enemy stats, Kaya provides single-target burst, and Jessie heals the lineup. This composition carries through the early seasons until stronger Wildlings heroes become accessible.
Synergies
Every Staunch Will cast shields all allies, triggering Victoria’s Energy Detection for +200 Focus and damage bonuses. Guardian INT’s round-scaling shields provide additional triggers each round. Harman is one of Victoria’s best enablers because he generates the most frequent and reliable shield events in the game.
Harman’s shields absorb burst damage while Ada’s Reviving heals restore the HP that leaks through. Guardian INT’s +22% healing boost amplifies all of Ada’s Reviving output. Together they create a double-layer sustain system — shields for burst, heals for attrition.
Buri’s Link of Life distributes damage across the team while Harman’s shields absorb the distributed hits. Link of Life’s small distributed hits are the perfect damage profile for shields to absorb — many small hits are completely negated by shield layers rather than bleeding through. Chimera Anchor also triggers on the distributed hits.
Penny’s drone-based shields combined with Harman’s Staunch Will create a high-frequency shield event pattern. Each shield event triggers Chimera Anchor chip damage, and the overlapping shields make the entire lineup difficult to burst through.
Bolton’s AC Shield activates at battle start, generating a shield event that immediately triggers Chimera Anchor’s chip damage. Bolton’s massive shield (200% max HP) also absorbs front-row damage, protecting Harman in position 2 and letting him focus on casting Staunch Will rather than tanking.
Interactions with other heroes’ ultimate weapons.
Thunder Blade grants Victoria +200 Focus and significant damage bonuses when detecting shields on herself. Every Staunch Will cast from Harman triggers this detection, and Guardian INT’s round-scaling shields provide additional triggers each round. Harman is Victoria’s most reliable Energy Detection enabler.
God-Slaying Axe grants all teammates +10% DMG and +10% DMG Mitigation on each Raging Roar cast. The +10% DMG buff increases Chimera Anchor’s chip damage output, while the healing from Raging Roar is amplified by Guardian INT’s +22% healing boost.
Bolton’s AC Shield (200% max HP) activates at battle start, immediately generating a shield event that triggers Chimera Anchor’s chip damage. The massive shield also protects Harman in the secondary tank slot, ensuring he survives long enough to cast multiple Staunch Wills.

- Diesel (Hard Counter) — Diesel’s anti-shield mechanics directly strip Harman’s shields, negating his primary defensive contribution and preventing Chimera Anchor from generating chip damage from those shield events.
- Clara (Soft Counter) — Clara’s stun targeting the highest-ATK hero can lock down Harman or his teammates, disrupting the Focus skill cycle and delaying Staunch Will casts.
- Casino (Soft Counter) — Casino’s Double Down drains 200 Focus from all enemies, delaying Staunch Will activation and leaving the team without shields during critical early rounds.
- Sustain-Starved Lineups (Hard Counter) — Lineups without healing or shields are slowly ground down by the combination of Harman’s escalating shields and Chimera Anchor chip damage. The longer the fight goes, the stronger Harman’s Guardian INT shields become through round scaling.
- Multi-Hit Lineups (Soft Counter) — Many small hits (Heytex rockets, Penny drones) are efficiently absorbed by Harman’s team- wide shields. Each small hit that depletes shield HP is damage that never touches actual hero HP, giving Harman’s lineup a net HP advantage over the fight.

S Tier. Harman is an S-tier support available from Season 0, making him one of the most accessible high-impact heroes in the game. His team-wide shields are uniquely reliable — Staunch Will fires on every focus skill cast with no conditional requirements. Chimera Anchor converts defensive play into passive offense. Guardian INT’s round-scaling shields provide an escalating advantage in prolonged fights. He is the backbone of virtually every Wildlings lineup and slots into cross-faction compositions as a universal shield provider.
